Bomb hoax stirs panic in hospital

Published October 25, 2007

SIALKOT, Oct 24: A bomb hoax created a panic among patients and their attendants at Allama Iqbal Memorial (DHQ) Hospital here on Wednesday.

Reports said that some people saw smoke in the hospital and took it as an explosive device. On being alarmed, several patients and their attendants rushed out of the hospital to `save’ their lives. Some even jumped from the upper storey of the hospital.

The hospital management called out the bomb disposal squad that took two hours to comb the hospital, but nothing was found.

District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Javaid Warraich said that a departmental probe had been ordered.
