HYDERABAD, Oct 24: The Hyderabad circuit bench of the Sindh High Court on Wednesday directed the vice-chancellor of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam to appear in court on Thursday to face a contempt of court application filed against him by an assistant professor of the university.

Urs Khaskheli filed the application through Imdad Unnar advocate. He had earlier filed a constitutional petition in court in 2005, seeking implementation of the services tribunal’s order, which had reinstated him in service with all benefits. He had claimed in the petition that the university had retired him prematurely. The court had directed the university to comply with the tribunal’s judgement and reinstate him with all retrospective benefits and the VC had undertaken in the court that the petitioner would be reinstated.

But then the university challenged the tribunal’s order in the apex court, which was dismissed. The university then reinstated him but deprived him of

Retrospective benefits.

The petitioner again filed a contempt of court application seeking action against the contemnor and the court directed the vice-chancellor to appear in person in court at 8.30 am.

ATC: A judge of anti-terrorism court on Wednesday adjourned hearing of two separate bomb blast cases against two activists of nationalist parties G.M. Bhagat and Cheetan Bajeer. The co-accused in the case against Cheetan Bajeer are: Zulfikar Bhurgari, Ali Nawaz Leghari, Hameed and Mohammad Moosa. Cheetan had earlier been an absconder in the case.

The second case was pending against Bajeer and G.M. Bhagat lodged at Qasimabad police station following a bomb explosion in a roadside hotel. The co-accused in the case are: Hameed, Zulfikar Bhurgari, Mohamamd Moosa, Cheetan and Ali Nawaz Leghari.
