HYDERABAD, Oct 23: Intellectuals, leaders of social and political organisations and people from different walks of life expressed grief on Tuesday over the sad demise of firebrand revolutionary poet Sarvech Sujawali after a protracted illness.

Leaders of Awami Tehrik, Rasool Bux Palijo, Syed Alam Shah, Qadir Ranto and Hakeem Halepoto said that late Sarvech was a poet of resistance who infused new blood in the veins of Sindhi peasants, workers and common people through his poetry.

They termed his death a great loss to Sindhi nation and said that his poetry had posed challenge to the enemies of Sindh.

The Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party Chairman Dr Qadir Magsi, senior vice chairman Dr Abdul Hameed Memon, general secretary Hoat Khan Gadhi and Muzaffar Kalhoro termed Sarvech’s death a great national loss.

Our Khairpur correspondent adds: The secretary of Khairpur District Bar Association, Abdul Qayoom Shaikh, said that later Sarvech would always be remembered for the awareness he created among people through his poetry.
