KARACHI, Oct 22: Pakistan’s Carla Khan won her opening match in Women’s World Open squash championship’s qualifying rounds in Madrid, Spain, on Sunday.According to results available here, Carla proved too good for Soraya Renai of France, winning the match in straight games.

The London-based Carla, who spent almost a year on the sidelines because of a career-threatening back injury, won the match 9-5, 9-3, 9-0 in just 29 minutes.

She will face England’s Lauren Briggs in the final qualifying round.

A win against Briggs will earn her a place in the main draw of the World Open, getting underway in Madrid from Tuesday.
