Time not ripe for APC: Zafarul Haq

Published October 21, 2007

ISLAMABAD, Oct 20: Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) Chairman Raja Zafarul Haq Saturday said this is not the right time to hold All Parties Conference (APC) keeping in view the present political circumstances.

Commenting on the proposal of holding APC by Information Minister Muhammad Ali Durrani, he said the current situation is not favorable and holding APC will serve no purpose.

“There is a need to ponder over ways and means to face the challenge of terrorism but in case if APC is held the government will face severe criticism by opponent political parties and nothing concrete will come out,” he said.

He said the government should give up the idea of holding APC and wait for favourable conditions to make any headway in this respect.—APP
