ISLAMABAD, Oct 20: Former Khateeb of Lal Masjid Maulana Abdul Aziz, who has been kept at Simly Dam resthouse amid tight security ever since he was captured by security forces, was shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) on Saturday.

Security sources said Maulana Abdul Aziz had been suffering from bad cold and had requested the authorities concerned for hospital facility. Mr Aziz is being kept in a room at the VIP ward of Pims which has been declared a sub-jail.

Maulana Abdul Aziz and his wife had been detained in the resthouse after being captured by the security forces while trying to leave Lal Masjid along with some women in April 2007.
