SAHIWAL, Oct 18: The Sahiwal police claimed to have arrested four outlaws who were injured in an encounter that continued for about an hour early on Thursday morning.

Reports said that Kamir police inspector Afzal along with his subordinates on a tip-off raided a place where outlaws were busy looting a passenger bus. Seeing law enforcers, the outlaws opened fire on them which was returned. After a shootout of some one hour, the police arrested four injured outlaws while their accomplices escaped from the scene. The arrested accused, identified as Jaafar Husain, Allah Ditta, Khadim Husain and Fayyaz, were admitted to a hospital. Police also recovered a rifle and two pistols from the accused.

A case has been registered against the accused under sections 399, 402, 400, 324, 353 and 186 PPC.

LOOTED: Three robbers looted the managing director of a private engineering company of Lahore on Burewala-Chichawatni Road near Chak 18/11-L on Wednesday night.

Reports said that Munawar Hussain along with his family was going to Burewala from Lahore when robbers intercepted the vehicle. At pistol point, outlaws deprived the family of Rs20,000 in cash, ornaments worth Rs200,000 and cell phones.

Chichawatni Sadar police have registered a case.
