Deal — a political weakness: Ghinwa

Published October 17, 2007

LARKANA, Oct 16: The chief of the PPP (SB) has termed the deal between the government and the People’s Party a sign of the party’s weakness.

Talking to different delegations at Al-Murtaza House on Tuesday, Ms Ghinwa Bhutto said that the deal was focused on achieving a personal gain and nothing else and added the PPP would not be able to pull out the country from the present constitutional, political, economic and social crises.

She said that PPP was not empowered to solve people’s problems and rejected the impression that her (Ms Benazir Bhutto) arrival would herald a new era of development and employment.

The IMF and World Bank fully control our economy, she said.

The people’s participation in power was the only tool to address present crisis, she remarked.
