Farmers jailed for power theft

SAHIWAL, Oct 11: Seventeen farmers of Mauza Dadan were arrested by a team of Wapda on charges of electricity theft. They included Zafar Iqbal, Ejaz Ahmad, Allah Yar Fatiana, Wahab, Faiz, Afzal, Muhammad Hanif, Aziz Ahmad, Yousaf, Nisar Ahmad, Ghafoor Ahmad, Hashmat, Allah Yar, Ahmad Ali, Imtiaz and Dad Khan.

The Noorshah police registered a case under 39-A of electricity act against the farmers who were consigned to the central jail.
