Four-star Noman shines in KG event

KARACHI, Oct 9: Noman Alvi’s four-wicket haul guided the KESC to final of the 22nd Karachi Gymkhana Tapal Trophy Twenty20 Ramazan Cricket Festival, as they outplayed Bed & Bath by seven wickets in the semi-final at the KG Ground on Tuesday.

Zeeshan Pervez scored an unbeaten 49 off 41 balls while Wajihuddin made 26 as Bed & Bath, batting first, reached 111-9 in their 20 overs.

Noman finished with excellent figures of 4-29 in his four overs and Anwar Ali, Pakistan junior team’s pacer, claimed two for 26.

The KESC, in response, romped home for the loss of just three wickets in 16.4 overs thanks to Fazal Subhan’s 46-ball 49 not out. Akber Rehman made 36 (off 29 balls).

The KESC team will play Medicam in the final on Wednesday.
