KARACHI, Oct 8: Medicam sailed into the final of the 22nd Karachi Gymkhana Tapal Trophy Twenty20 Ramazan Cricket Festival, beating M. Tex XI by just two runs in a nail-biting semi-final at the KG Ground on Monday.

M. Tex XI, chasing 154 for victory, were dismissed for 151 when three runs were required on the last ball when Imran Khalid was run out off a throw from mid-on by Khurram Manzoor.

Shahbaz Butt emerged as the highest scorer for M. Tex XI with 32 off 17 balls.

Earlier, batting first, Medicam posted 153-7 in their 20 overs. Mohammad Salman made an unbeaten 35 (off 27 balls) and Khalid Latif slammed a 17-ball 28.

M. Tex XI’s left-arm spinner Imran Khalid bowled well attack with three wickets for 13. Pacer Mohammad Talha got 2-28.

Paceman Uzair-ul-Haq, who took three wickets for 33, played a key role in Medicam’s triumph and was duly named man of the match.

The KESC will face Bed & Bath in the second semi-final on Tuesday.
