KOHAT, Oct 8: Lawyers on Monday boycotted court proceedings in protest against the highhandedness of the Peshawar police on Saturday.

A protest meeting was held at the Cantt Square where the president of the Kohat Bar Association criticised the use of excessive force against lawyers and called for sacking the Peshawar city police chief.

The protesters condemned the attack on senior lawyers, including the president of the Peshawar High Court Bar Association.

SWABI: Lawyers staged a demonstration to protest against the police highhandedness in Peshawar.

They condemned the police for injuring Peshawar High Court Bar Association president Abdul Latif Afridi.

The lawyers gathered at the Kernel Sher Chowk, raising slogans against the government.

Swabi Bar Association’s president Iftikhar Khan and general-secretary Changaiz Khan criticised the police action and said that officials involved in the incident should be punished.
