TIMERGARA, Oct 8: Supporters of Jamaat-i-Islami in Upper and Lower Dir districts on Monday extended a warm welcome to their MPAs and MNAs when they returned to Dir after tendering resignations from the provincial and national assemblies.

The leaders and workers of the party assembled in Timergara on Monday and went in a vehicular procession to Chakdara to receive the JI lawmakers. Those who arrived here included Health Minister Inayatullah, Muzaffar Said advocate, Saeed Gul, Farid Khan, Hayat Khan, Dr Zakirullah Khan, MNA Maulana Asadullah and MNA Maulana Ahmad Ghafoor Ghawas.

MNAs Asadullah and Ahmad Ghafoor, MPAs Muzaffar Said, Saeed Gul and others addressed the party supporters at Talash and at the rest house in Timergara.

They said they were proud of their decision as it was also the demand of the workers. They said they had turned down huge offers of money in the past and made no compromise on principles. “We believe in honesty and ideological politics,” they said.
