HYDERABAD, Oct 8: About 100 people in Matiari district have contracted a mysterious viral disease over past three days but doctors have failed to identify the virus and diagnose the disease.

Reports said that Goth Mohammad Ali Sangrasi near Hala was the worst hit by the disease where patients had been moved to a medical camp set up in the area by Matiari’s EDO of health. The department has already carried out anti-malaria spray in and around the village.

The symptoms of the disease are vomiting, severe headache, dizziness and epilepsy. Blood samples of some patients have been sent to Karachi for chemical analysis while no team of specialists have yet been sent to Hala to control the virus.

Reports said that provincial health department had been informed about the mysterious disease and requested to send a team of specialists to the affected area.

Former nazim of Hyderabad district, Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman of Hala and district naib nazim Rais Nooral Khan Nizamani on Monday visited the medical camp.
