MITHI, March 20: A session of the Tharparkar district council held here on Tuesday has demanded digging of wells, installation of tubewells and construction of school buildings in different villages of Thar.

Forty-five members attended the session while 14 boycotted it for about 15 minutes at its beginning. However, they resumed their seats later.

Their leaders — Abdur Rahim Khoso, Mohan Lal and others — accused the convener and the Nazim’s group of non-cooperation and exclusion of “opposition” members from the consultative council.

The session passed a resolution after some identical motions tabled by Mohammad Usman, Roopchand, Ram Singh Bheel, Bhorji Thakur and Jarar Dal, which called for digging wells in the villages of Mataro-ji-Dhani, Bhakhto-ji-Dhani, Amin Nohri, Mamchero, Kumbhari, Sakar Vero, Harho, Dedh Pura, Lasri, Siranghwari, Sunhiat, Arabla, Dhabhri and Mehari, and for installing a tubewell in village Kharoro Dal.

Through another resolution the session recommended the construction of the buildings for government boys primary schools at the villages of Morasio, Mevo Rind, Ahmed Taar, Charkari, Arnro, Charhiar, Dabarchha and girls primary school, Jogi Marhi.

The session passed a number of resolutions and demanded of the authorities to repair the judicial lock-up and Mukhtiarkar office, Diplo, to sanction building for veterinary centre.
