PESHAWAR, Oct 6: Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Tariq Pervez Khan on Saturday took suo motu notice of police action against lawyers and summoned top police officials.

He fixed Oct 9 for hearing the case and directed Peshawar city police chief Abdul Majeed Marwat and other officials to appear before the court with relevant documents.

The chief justice visited the Lady Reading Hospital and enquired after the health of injured lawyers, including PHC Bar Association president Abdul Lateef Afridi.
