PESHAWAR, Oct 5: Like other parts of the country, October 8 will be observed as the Natural Calamity Day in Mardan in memory of the devastating earthquake which destroyed five districts of the NWFP and Azad Kashmir.

A meeting of the District Disaster Management Authority was held in Mardan with District Nazim Hamayatullah Mayar in chair. It decided that a seminar would be arranged at Town

Hall to apprise the people of damages caused by the earthquake.

Experts will deliver lectures on how to tackle natural calamities and minimise the damages in such calamities.

A walk led by the district nazim and DCO Mardan will be held after the seminar.—APP
