QUETTA, Oct 4: Khuzdar Press Club’s senior vice-president Riaz Mengal was kidnapped on Thursday evening.

According to office-bearers of the club, Mr Mengal was on his way home when some unidentified armed men riding two vehicles intercepted him in front of the club building and took him away at gunpoint.

Police have registered a case. There was no trace of Mr Mengal till late in the night, police said.

Press club office-bearers claimed that Mr Mengal had recently filed a report regarding the illegal trade of stolen vehicles.

They said that some influential people involved in the business might be behind the incident.
