KASUR, Oct 2: The Phoolnagar Saddar police have failed to arrest the gangsters who allegedly raped an orphan teenager and then strangled her at Lakhankay village the other day.

Eight men, including Anwar Khan Pathan, Ashraf, Akram and Papu, entered the house of the late Bashir Ahmad and abducted his 12-year-old daughter and raped her at their outhouse.

Later, they strangled the girl and left her in front of her house. She was pronounced dead in hospital.

It is learnt that the notorious gang warned the widow (the girl’s mother) against approaching the police and seeking the medical report. The woman, however, informed the police about the incident when some elders of the locality exhorted her to do so.

The police registered a case against five nominated and three unidentified people.

The poor mother submitted an application with a Pattoki court for exhumation of her daughter’s body.
