HYDERABAD, Oct 1: The Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Central Labour Union will observe black day throughout the country on Oct 3 in protest against the government decision to break up Wapda into many parts, says the chairman of the All-Pakistan Powerhouses Administrative Committee, Mohammad Sajan Panhwar.

Mr Panhwar said at a meeting of the committee held at Jamshoro thermal power station on Sunday that the workers would resist the move. Wapda employees would observe tool down strike and hold rallies against the proposed break-up of the organisation during the black day, he said.

He believed the government was taking the decision under pressure from IMF and World Bank.
