Bosman suspended after outburst

DURBAN, Sept 25: South Africa’s Loots Bosman has been suspended for a domestic match in the wake of a media outburst.

Cricket South Africa said on Tuesday that Bosman had attended a disciplinary hearing where he was found guilty of “unbecoming or detrimental” conduct.

Bosman pleaded guilty and was suspended for the Diamond Eagles’ Supersport Series first-class match against the Dolphins in Durban from Oct 11 to 14.

In newspaper reports on Sept 5 Bosman challenged conflicting medical reports over his condition after he was withdrawn from South Africa’s squad for the Twenty20 World Championship because of injury.

The reports said the first specialist Bosman visited had said he should recover in time to play in the tournament. A second opinion recommended that he did not play for six weeks.—Reuters
