MULTAN, Sept 25: Dozens of farmers of Mauza Buch took out a rally opposite the irrigation offices here on Tuesday against `irregularities’ in canal water supply to their lands.

The protesters surrounded the office of Chief Engineer Abdul Hafiz Gondal and chanted slogans against officials of the irrigation department.

According to protesters, their lands were situated in the command area of Rajbah Kachur but due to the irresponsible behavior of irrigations officials a few influential farmers could benefit from the water channel.

They claimed that their applications to the SE Haveli in the past had not been entertained.
