BAHAWALPUR Sept 25: Ruling PML’s member of the National Assembly Tasneem Nawaz Gardezi has said he will follow his party’s decision to vote for Gen Pervez Musharraf in the presidential election on Oct 6.

Mr Gardezi told Dawn on telephone from Islamabad on Tuesday that he had not participated in any meeting, as appeared in the press, of some leaguers at the residence of former state minister Ishaq Khakwani in Islamabad on Monday. He said even though he had visited Mr Khakwani’s house to see his old friends there but they did not discuss politics.

He said Mr Khakwani was his friend and he (Khakwani) had phoned him to visit him. He said he would vote for Gen Musharraf as per his promise with Gen Musharraf which he made during the general’s visit to Bahawalpur in July last. Mr Gardezi said he hoped that Mr Khakwani, presently in PML dissidents’ camp, would vote for Gen Musharraf. — Correspondent
