LAHORE, March 18: Office-bearers of the Lahore organization of the Alliance for Restoration of Democracy discussed measures to bring the largest number of people possible to the March 23 public meeting of the Alliance at Mochi Gate on Monday.

Mian Misbahur Rahman presided over the meeting which was also attended by some provincial office-bearers of the coalition.

Nine committees were set up to make arrangements.

The participants condemned the grenade attack on an Islamabad church and held that the government had failed to maintain law and order. They demanded that the military government should step down and a transitional government should be set up to hold free and fair elections.

The Lahore organization of the Pakistan Democratic Party held a separate meeting in connection with the ARD’s Pakistan Day meeting.
