HYDERABAD, Sept 24: The government has failed in controlling price hike even in Ramazan as it was too occupied in retaining Pervez Musharraf as the President, said Secretary All Pakistan Trade Unions Organisation, Hyderabad Chapter Mohammad Ashraf while speaking to representatives of different trade unions of interior Sindh, here on Monday.

He said had the government utilised its energies in controlling prices and providing basic facilities to people specially workers, the situation would have been quite different. He said with the advent of Ramazan, the prices of edible items specially wheat flour, ghee and oil increased manifold.

He said it had become impossible for the working class to make both ends meet and their families will not be able to celebrate Eid in the way they should.

He asked the government to direct owners of factories to give one month salary as Eid bonus to enable children of workers celebrate Eid.—Bureau
