Published March 19, 2002

ISLAMABAD, March 18: Information Minister Nisar Memon said on Monday that the government was committed to stamping out terrorism and it will share information on Sunday’s church attack with people.

“Whatever happened was most unfortunate, and we want to bring truth and the facts before the nation and the world outside, we are very clear about that, as soon as any facts are known, we will let the press know,” he told newsmen during a visit to the Federal Government Services Hospital.

He also visited Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences and Shifa Hospital and inquired about the treatment and state of the injured.

He said President Gen Pervez Musharraf had ordered an enquiry into the attack.

He said the president had called a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the situation.—APP
