KHAIRPUR, Sept 22: The Awam Dost Panel (ADP) nazims of Khairpur and People’s Lawyers Forum have condemned the arrest of ADP nazim and opposition leader in district council Sukkur.

Talking to reporters here on Saturday, the ADP nazims Abdul Qayoom Shaikh, Faqir Sher Ali, Nasiruddin Farooqui, Ghazala Siyal and others condemned the arrest of ADP nazim Naseem Abass Shah and opposition leader in district council Sukkur by Rohri police and termed it as political victimisation.

They said that during the tenure of present government, ADP nazims have been harassed by fake cases against them and added that the arrest of Mr Naseem Abbas was one of the worst examples of political victimisations.

They said that during sessions of district council Sukkur, Mr Naseem Abbas had criticised the use of substandard material in the development schemes of Sukkur and raised voice against the inefficiency of district government Sukkur.

They claimed that the ADP nazims have earlier been facing such vindictive acts and added that after his arrest, Mr Naseem was threatened by police.

They also claimed that in district Khairpur, the ADP nazims have also been facing harassment, political victimisation and human rights violation since last four years.

Reports received here said that ADP nazims and councillor of district council Sukkur also staged protest demonstration outside the Rohri police station on Saturday against the arrest of Mr Naseem and demanded immediate release of the ADP nazim.

On the other hand, a meeting of PLF Sukkur region presided over by its president, Liaquat Shar was held on Saturday.

The meeting condemned the arrest of ADP nazim by Rohri police.
