ISLAMABAD, Sept 21: More than 300 people offered Friday prayer outside Lal Masjid.

Capital police personnel were deployed around the mosque to ensure peace during the prayers. People dispersed peacefully after the prayers and no untoward incident took place.

Chief Commissioner Islamabad Hamid Ali Khan had earlier said that Lal Masjid would be re-opened after appointment of Khateeb with the consent of the residents of Sector G-6.

Meanwhile, four veiled women complained of being mistreated by women police while they were trying to offer prayers in the mosque.—APP
