Demo against proposed division of Wapda

Published September 21, 2007

LAHORE, Sept 20: Wapda workers staged a demonstration outside the Wapda House here on Thursday to protest against the proposed division of the authority.

Carrying banners and placards, protesters blocked traffic on the Shahrah-i-Quaid-i-Azam and raised slogans against the proposed division of Wapda.

Addressing the workers, Pakistan Wapda Hydro-Electric Central Labour Union Secretary-General Khurshid Ahmad said the splitting up of Wapda would increase administrative costs unnecessarily. —Reporter
