PESHAWAR, Sept 20: The Islamia College will be launching classes for girl students from November 1, officials said.

Islamia College, a part of the University of Peshawar, is the first college of the province which was established in 1913. The classes for girl students of pre-medical group would start on the directives of NWFP Governor Ali Mohammad Jan Aurakzai, who is also the chancellor of the Peshawar University.

The governor gave the directions during a recent visit to the college. According to an official, the governor had formed a committee which decided that initially 50 students would be admitted to the first year. The aspiring candidates would submit their applications till September 22 and classes would start from November 1.

It may be noted that admission to intermediate classes has been completed all over the province and the girls section of the college will not be able to attract any brilliant students.
