Farhan, Yasir win qualifiers

ISLAMABAD, Sept 19: Pakistan’s Farhan Mehboob and Yasir Butt won their first round qualifying matches at the British Open squash championship.

According to reports available here on Wednesday, Farhan outclassed England’s Lewis Walters in straight sets (11-3, 11-9, 11-7) in just 22 minutes.

Yasir defeated Stuart Crawford of Scotland 9-11, 11-7, 11-9, 5-11, 11-3 in five sets.

In the second round of the qualifiers, Farhan will take on Bradley Bell of England while Yasir play against another Englishman Jonathan Kemp.
