ISLAMABAD, Sept 19: A problem of cabin pressure forced a Lahore-bound AirBlue flight from Dubai to land in Karachi on Wednesday.

The ED-411 flight was diverted to Karachi because of low oxygen pressure, airline’s chief executive Mr Shahid Khaqqan Abbasi said.

“The aircraft could have continued its journey but the pilot preferred not to take the risk,” Mr Abbasi explained.

All 126 passengers on the aircraft were safe.

The aircraft resumed journey after about one hour’s stopover in Karachi where engineers fixed the problem.

The airline’s aircraft have been experiencing technical problems in recent days disrupting its flight schedule.

Mr Abbasi attributed the problems to absence of back-up aircraft, while two of its aircraft were undergoing checks.
