KARACHI, Sept 18: Asif Zakir struck a blazing 96 as Mohammad Hussain CC pulled off an incredible one-run win against Factdate Engg in the 22nd Karachi Gymkhana Tapal Trophy Ramazan Cricket Festival at the KG Ground on Tuesday.

Asif’s 50-ball cameo included 10 fours and five sixes that almost single-handedly guided Mohammad Hussain CC to 182 for eight in 20 overs.

Kashif Hanif (57 off 32 balls, eight fours and one six) and Waqas Ausaf (56 off 38 balls, five fours and two sixes), however, kept Factdate Engg in the hint with a fifth-wicket partnership of 79. But the last five wickets fell for the addition of just 11 runs with off-spinner Ali Hussain (3-30) and Agha Sabir (2-15) doing the damage.

Asif Zakir was deservedly named Man-of-the-Match.

Summarised scores:

MOHAMMAD HUSSAIN CC 182-8 in 20 overs (Asif Zakir 96, Mohammad Rizwan 33, Aamir Iqbal 29; Akhtar Hussain 2-33, Ali Nawaz 2-35); FACTDATE ENGG 181 in 19.5 overs (Kashif Hanif 57, Waqas Ausaf 56; Ali Hussain 3-30, Agha Sabir 2-15).

Wednesday’s fixture: Omer CC v M. Tex XI.
