MIRPURKHAS, Sept 18: A social worker, Zahid Aslam, has deplored that free textbooks have not been provided to the primary students of the Government High School Khai though the new academic year has entered second month.
Talking to journalists at the press club here on Tuesday, he said that the students of the school had been denied free books because the name of the school had not been included in the list of schools to be provided the books under a Sindh government-sponsored scheme.
Mr Aslam called upon the provincial minister for education and the district nazim and EDO (education) of Sanghar to ensure immediate distribution of free books in the school.
RAID: The Old Mirpur police unearthed a factory preparing fake cold drinks near Junejo Quarters on Hyderabad road here on Monday, arrested its 10 employees and seized fake cold drinks, empty bottles and machinery. However, factory owner Imran Khawaja fled from the scene.
The police have lodged an FIR under section 269 and 273 of the PPC against the factory owner and arrested labourers.

Pushcart, vendors and others have encroached upon main roads of the Mirpurkhas city and the Market Chowk has been made parking area, causing massive traffic jams in the area.
