HYDERABAD, Sept 17: A meeting of the standing committee of Awami Tehrik on Monday decided to stage demonstrations and hunger strikes in all the district headquarters of the province on Sept 19 in protest against the incident at Sindh High Court and the lawyer’s murder in Karachi.

Party chief Rasool Bux Palijo who presided over the meeting said that the incident at high court and gruesome murder of lawyers was a naked display of terrorism. The entire country was in the grip of lawlessness due to Gen Musharraf, he added.

He said that remaining silent at such a critical juncture was tantamount to supporting the murderers. During eight years of Gen Musharraf rule, the entire country especially Sindh had been converted into a torture cell, he said.

He charged that Sindhis’ entry into Karachi had been banned.
