Sindh Police win in KG event

KARACHI, Sept 17: Sindh Police scored a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Pak Gymkhana in the 22nd Karachi Gymkhana Tapal Trophy Ramazan Cricket Festival at the KG Ground here on Monday.

After opting to bat first, Pak Gymkhana were restricted to 135 for eight in their 20 overs. Sindh Police then knocked off the required runs in 15.3 overs with Shujaat Ali (34) and Akif Alvi (27) adding 67 for the unbroken fourth-wicket partnership. Summarised scores:

PAK GYMKHANA 135-8 in 20 overs (Mubashir Ahmed 43, Nizamuddin 25 not out; Khalid Rasheed 2-25); SINDH POLICE 136-3 in 15.3 overs (Shujaat Ali 34 not out, Mohammad Anwar 30, Akif Alvi 27 not out, Kamran Hussain 26; Anis Shaikh 2-26).
