KARAK, Sept 17: The residents of various localities in the district Karak have expressed resentment over the unscheduled loadshedding at the time of Iftar and Sehri and called upon the government to direct Pesco to stop the practice forthwith.

The social and political leaders of the Chountra Jawat Mir area, Noor Shah Jan Khattak, Khan Zad Gul and others told this correspondent on Monday that local authorities of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) had been violating a directive of the federal government that there should be no loadshedding at the time of Iftar and Sehri.

They said that people had been braving eight-to-nine hours of loadshedding daily. They said that they had approached the authorities concerned time and again and requested them to discontinue the outage at least in the month of Ramazan but there was no improvement in the situation.

They urged the federal government and Pesco chief Sakhi Marjan Khattak to take notice of the situation.
