BAHAWALPUR, Sept 15: The total casualties in Friday’s tractor-trolley accident near Chishtian were 12 instead of nine, confirmed DSP Liaquat Cheema on Saturday.

The DSP told Dawn by phone that nine of the dead were women and the three were children. He said three women, who were fished out alive, were admitted to the Civil Hospital, Chishtian. He said the condition of seven other injured was also stable in hospital. Driver Mushtaq was also among the survivor, he said.

The shopkeepers demanded that the killers of Ata Muhammad Bhatti, who was shot dead on Friday near his shop, should be arrested immediately.
