LAHORE, Sept 13: Sehba Musharraf may be the covering candidate for President Gen Pervez Musharraf to contest the presidential poll in case his re-election is blocked by the Supreme Court, says ruling party chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

“Sehba is eligible (to become president) since there is a tradition in Pakistan to keep important offices within families,” the PML president told a TV channel.

When pressed if this was the party position, Mr Shujaat said that this was his personal opinion.

He said the next one week would be crucial for the future set-up and some important decisions would have to be taken by the government.

Answering a question, he said Kulsoom Nawaz should be allowed to return if she wanted to.
