JACOBABAD, Sept 13: Human rights activists took out a rally against the closed schools on Thursday. The rally began from the Shaheed Park and after marching on different roads reached the DCO Chowk and staged a sit-in.

Protesters were carrying placards and banners.

Abdul Hafeez Jatoi, Iram Jatoi, Ashid Hussain Dayo and others said the teachers of such schools were getting salaries.

They threatened to widen the protest if schools were not reopened soon.

DRUGS SEIZED: Police seized 400kg hashish and arrested two accused in police uniform on Garhi Khairo Road on Thursday.

Reports said the Mouladad Police Station received information that a four-wheeler carrying drugs was coming from Quetta to Karachi.

During the checking, police recovered hashish, one Kalashnikov and arrested two persons Sanaullah and Ghulam, who were in police uniform. Police impounded the vehicle (IDP-5565).

No FIR was lodged till the filing of this report.
