Rs2 million jewellery, cash looted

LAHORE, March 16: Robbers took away cash and jewellery worth over Rs2 million from different parts of the city on Saturday.

Four gunmen stormed into the house of one Tasnim Khan in Faisal Town, collected cash and jewellery worth Rs1.8 million and drove away with his car. They abandoned the car a few hundred yards from the house.

Four robbers forced their entry into the house of Pervaiz Akhtar in Mughalpura and made off with cash and jewellery worth over Rs400,000.

Shopkeeper Khalid drew Rs160,000 from a bank in Chauburji and was on his way when two gunmen intercepted him and deprived him of the cash.

Meanwhile, a woman councillor of ward No 141 urged the Nishtar Colony police to arrest the robbers who had looted her house twice in the last month.
