MUZAFFARABAD, March 16: The Pakistan Psychiatric Society (PPS) has set up its AJK chapter to promote professional and educational activities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, an office-bearer of the society told newsmen here on Wednesday.

Dr Khawaja Hamid Rashid, secretary of the AJK branch, said the executive body of the society had taken the decision to set up the chapter in Azad Kashmir at a conference of the PPS held in Bahawalpur. Later on, the general body of the society also endorsed the decision.

The society, he said, would organize its first annual symposium on psychiatric ailments in the third week of April here, which would be participated by leading professors and psychiatrists, including Prof Khalid Mufti, Prof Khalida Tareen, Prof Ejaz Haider, Prof Sharif Chaudhry and Dr Amin Gadet.—Staff Correspondent
