HYDERABAD, Sept 8: Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate dismissed on Saturday bail application of Safya and Kausar in a case about the kidnapping of three-day infant.

The judge remanded the two women in judicial custody for four days with directives to police to interrogate the women inside women prison in the presence of a woman ASI.

Investigation officer of the case had filed bail plea before sessions judge Hyderabad to seek cancellation of their bail, granted by civil judge and judicial magistrate-X Asif Soomro.

The application was transferred to Additional District Judge-I who subsequently referred it to concerned judicial magistrate for hearing.

Investigating police submitted before him that section 364-A which was punishable with 14-year imprisonment, has been added in the FIR and their bail should be cancelled.

The police stated in the application that the investigation of the case is yet to be completed, identification parade is to be held and section 164 CrPC statement is to be recorded in the case.

The magistrate had earlier accepted their bail in a sum of Rs50,000 each. However, they were remanded to judicial custody after they failed to submit their surety.

Baby girl Dua has not been recovered so far.

She was kidnapped allegedly by Safya on Aug 19 from Bhittai Hospital’s female general ward.

DISTRICT COUNCIL: Convener district council Hyderabad Zafar Ali Rajput directed the DPO Hyderabad to attend the session of the council on Monday in connection with registration of cases against PPP-backed Awam Dost Panel (ADP) UC Nazim Abdullah Shoro.
