LAHORE, Sept 6: Yasir Hameed, who cracked a century for the Pakistan side against Australia ‘A’ on Wednesday, said the knock has boosted his moraleand he is eager to win back his place in the Pakistan senior squad.

“Although I did not plan on making a century, I did however wish to play till the last ball of the innings,” Yasir, who has played 20 Tests and 53 One-day Internationals for Pakistan, said.

“Performing at this level is always importantand these matches carry great significance for me since they give the players good opportunity to make a comeback.”

Yasir, whose last last appearance for Pakistan was against South Africa in a Test earlier this year, said target was not that difficult in the Australia ‘A’ game and there was not much pressure on him despite the fact that the wicket had low bounce.

Meanwhile, Pakistan ‘A’ skipper Faisal Iqbal who also played an important role in his team’s victory with an unbeaten 76, said the Aussie were capable of bouncing back. “We have taken the lead in the series which is always good but now we have to keep our spirits high because the opposition is a strong one,” he said.—Sports Correspondent
