Pakistan CC lift trophy

KARACHI, Sept 5: A fine teamwork inspired Pakistan CC to a five-wicket victory over Rafiq Shirazi CC in the final of the NBP-KCCA Super League Colour Kit Inter-club tournament at the National Stadium here on Tuesday.

Chasing 260, Pakistan romped home with 19 balls to spare. Shaharyar Ghani hit an unbeaten 67, which included six fours and one six. Skipper Adnan Kaleem (41), Javed Mansoor (36), Daniyal Ahsan (31), Fazal Subhan (29) and Anwar Ali khan (25 not out) also making useful contributions.

Earlier, opener Wasim Naeem hammered 13 fours and three sixes in scoring 115 off 99 balls as Rafiq Shirazi were dismissed for 259 in 49.1 overs.

Medium-pacer Iftikhar Ali, who was adjudged Man-of-the-Match, claimed four for 44.

Pakistan CC earned the winners’ purse of Rs50,000 besides the trophy. The losers had to be content with Rs25,000.
