MIRPURKHAS, Sept 1: Speaker Sindh Assembly Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah has advised contacting Ombudsman’s office against administrative injustices and advised educated and notables to create awareness among the people of their rights.

He was speaking at a seminar on “role of civil society in establishing better role of government” organised by the Regional Directorate Ombudsman Mirpurkhas, on Saturday.

He said people were unaware of this department as it provides justice without any cost.

Sindh had the honour of establishing first Ombudsman Department and providing justice to many, he said.

On the directives of Sindh government four new Ombudsman offices were being established in Thatta, Badin, Naushahro Feroze and Jacobabad districts after which their number in the province will reach 15, said the Provincial Ombudsman Yousuf Jamal.

He said the aim was to provide cheap justice to people at their doorstep and informed that his office received 114,707 complaints of which 29,529 had been approved for investigation and 25,190 decided.

Secretary Ombudsman Sindh Syed Ameer Ali Shah, Zila Nazim Dr Sughra Junejo, Zila Naib Nazim Dr Zafar Ahmed Kamali, Director General Provincial Ombudsman Dr Mohammad Ali Shaikh, and former MNA S.A. Khan, suggested measures to provide cheap justice to people.

APPEAL: Mohammad Usman Jarwar of Tando Allahyar has expressed no-confidence in the medical board that exhumed body of her daughter, Benazir Jarwar, who has been allegedly poisoned to death and appealed to Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of his case.
