More cases of power theft detected

PESHAWAR, Sept 1: The monitoring teams of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) detected 57 cases of power pilferage in the Gujar Garhi sub-division of Mardan on Saturday.

According to a press release of the company, the teams caught 57 consumers while stealing electricity.

Of them, 41 were using electricity through hooks, three meters had been stopped, seals of five meters were tempered with, hole was made in one meter, four meters were manipulated and three meters were using illegal electricity through neutral cut system.

The consumers were given bills of Rs411,500 and police department was asked to register FIRs against 41 chronic consumers involved in power pilferage.

The company has requested its consumers again to stop power pilferage in their own interest.
