KARACHI, Aug 31: Pakistani sailor, Chief Technician Muhammad Yousaf of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) secured third place in the Laser Standard in international sailing class after a thrilling and tough competition of eight races in Turkish waters at the Istanbul Regatta.

According to a PAF statement received here on Friday, Muhammad Yousaf was the

only foreigner on the victory stand.

A three-member Pakistan sailing team headed by Vice President Pakistan Sailing Federation Air Commodore Khalid Farooq Chishti participated in Istanbul Sailing Week in Turkey, being held there from August 20 to 27. The event was participated by a total of 36 sailors from 11 countries in the different sailing classes.

The regatta was dominated by Turkish sailors who won eight medals out of nine.—Agencies
