PESHAWAR, Aug 31: The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Smeda) will set up display centres to market marble products produced by women in Peshawar, Islamabad and Karachi.

This was stated by Sobia Zia, training manager of the Pakistan Stone Development Company (Pasdec) while speaking at a ceremony held here on Friday at the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).

According to a press release, SCCI president Liaqat Ahmad Khan, Smeda manager Rashid Rehman, Lubna Sabaoon Farooq and SME Bank regional chief Naeem Bangash also addressed the meeting.

Ms Zia said that employment opportunities abound for women trained under the Smeda project.

She said that training sessions for men would also be arranged.
