ISLAMABAD, Aug 29: The government will announce the Chemical Vision-2020 by mid January, 2008 for the development and progress of the chemical industry in the country.

The Engineering Development Board (EDB) is drafting the vision, which will be finalised in consultation with all stakeholders, said General Manager (Policy) Zahid J. Yaqub in a meeting with representatives of the chemical industry.

An official announcement issued after the meeting said that the EDB wanted guidance and inputs from the industry as the vision will be made and owned by the industry. In order to achieve this goal, EDB has started consultations with the industry and organised a series of meetings with stakeholders.
